Property with garden Ceptura de Jos (Romania)

Between Ceptura and Fântânele, Prahova County, spread over 23 hectares of soil rich in siliceous clay, with a climatic condition similar to that of Bordeaux or Tuscany, The Rotenberg Wine Cellar offer the ideal conditions for obtaining the maximum potential of fruity, expressive and strong aromas of wines. The plantations are predominant in Merlot, but Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties are also present. What gives the grapes an exceptional quality is the separate harvesting depending on sunshine, soil and planting density, together with the vine age- over 50 years old. The rigorosity of grapes harvesting offers the highest quality aura to the drinks flavour. Here, the grapes are fermented on separate plots, the ‘’Single vineyard’’ wines being obtained by this technique. The red wine is fermented in semi-open pots, with a submerged ‘’hat’’, while the seeds are kept in the ‘’pigeage’’ hat, being eliminated most of the bad, bitter and herbaceous tannins, leaving behind the intense taste of a quality red wine. Although it is expensive and non-industrial, this process gives the wines a special and deep fineness, unattainable in ‘’stainless steels”. The Rotenberg Winery offers 2 overlapping cellars with 400 barrels that allow a gravitational techonogical flow in which the wine is not attacked by pumps. Its passage from the fermentation vessels into barrels, then into bottles is done under the influence of its own weight, avoiding mechanical filtration, giving it a special texture. The wood is strictly selected- it has no white, permeable fibers or decays. The wood is aged for at least 18 months in wind and rain, in order for the sap and some of the tannins to be washed. Some barrels are deep burned, giving the complex and deep taste, so characteristic of the Rotenberg wine. The burning process time and intensity represents the secret of the premium wine that can be found only at The Rotenberg Wine Cellar. The property also offers a manor for tastings and events (oenotourism), in an exceptional ambiance. The Rotenberg Winery was founded in 2007 and produces 1000HL of premium wine per year from the grapes cultivated on 23 Ha of land (18 Ha of Merlot, 3 Ha of Cab. Franc, 2 Ha of Cab. Sauvignon). Awarded at ‘’Mondial du Merlot’’- Switzerland, in 2010 and 2014, the wines can be found in most of the retail networks, which absorb about 75% of production. All these make The Rotenberg Wineries not only the place where the perfect combination of softness and stature of internationally awarded wines is born, but also a brand and a bussines ready to be exploited. Property Bucharest (Romania)

The last few years have brought to our attention areas, names and ancient histories that put in context and humanize the town we live in and the buildings we pass by in a hurry. The House of Guilds is one of those witness-houses, few and often in danger of extinction, which recover the history of the city and its largest minority, the Jews. Sephardic refugees from Spain and later, after the Principalities Union, Ashkenazi from Galitia, the Jews are doctors, potters, merchants, samsari, tailors, painters, craftsmen specialized in metalworking and are useful to the city because it contributes to its urbanization. They settled on the left bank of Dâmbovița, near the Royal Court and later in the area that became the Jewish Quarter. They built houses with shops on the ground floor, public baths, kosher butchers shops and dairies, teahouses where religious music was listened to, temples and synagogues. Today few remember this community; the legionary fires of 1941 and the massive demolition of the 1980s changed the appearance of the neighborhood considerably. At present, the toponym Jewish Quarter encapsulates more storrytelling than material evidence, which makes the property proposed for sale even more valuable. On Spătaru Street at number 10A we find today this neo-Gothic building, richly decorated, Casa Breslelor, the work of the architect Luigi Ludovic Lipizer, who arrived in Bucharest from the Austrian Empire in the middle of the 19th century. The building has not only a unique architecture but also a historical and architectural value that the restoration and extension project carried out by an architectural office specialized in the rehabilitation of historical monuments intends to preserve (the project is currently subject to approval). Lipizer embraces the neo-Gothic style, expressed in Europe in the18th and 19th centuries, and this option makes the building look like a commercial hall from the Middle Ages and is known today as the House of Guilds - it is believed that the statues placed on the columns with capitals and protected by meticulously decorated canopies represent various professions. The access is made through an arched door under a noble broken arch, but the neo-Gothic remains outside; inside, only the light entering the house brings with it the beauty of the windows. On the ground floor, besides the hall and stairwell, there will be, according to the restoration and extension project, an office, a living room with dinning area, a bathroom and a kitchen. Upstairs it is proposed to redistribute the space into a master bedroom, a bathroom, another bedroom plus a family room and the current loggia. The architects propose an additional floor with a bedroom and terrace; also here the restoration and extension project includes the transformation of a portion of the roof into a glass roof. In the basement generous areas have been designed for the technical room, laundry/ bathroom and cellar, plus living quarters for staff. An open cellar is provided with access from the courtyard, where the demolition of the adjoining bodies without residential and architectural-historical value is taken into account with the preservation of some brick walls as decorative elements of the green spaces that will form the interior garden. The present values the past, shakes it from the dust and sees its future. The House of Guilds, one of the few left standing despite its 160th anniversary, has the chance to shine again as a magnificent private home, unique in its history and architecture, comfortable and warm through its planned restoration works. Farmhouse with garden Grădiștea (Romania)

We invite you to a green field, forgotten by the world, apparently outside of civilization and where the sun rises and sets unhindered by concrete or asphalt. The expanse of almost five hectares of land in this area means calm and solitude - the silent flat immovable plain and the forest that borders it are the guarantor. Entering the house, the green leaves the stage and wood enters - the entire lodge of over a thousand square meters is made of wood and is divided into truly generous day and night spaces. The ground floor means a high living room, a spacious kitchen and bedrooms, each with its own dressing room and bathroom. The upper floor has been reserved for a large gym and lounge area. Wood up, wood down, wood upright, horizontal, trunk, log, bar, plank - in any representation, whole or sliced, straight or gnarled, the wood is warm, silent, patient and lively and acts as a building material, decoration, binder between the outside and inside. A stylized hut exploits a hoof making it a native hobbit house, with gnarled trunks guarding the entrance (the windows are the bottoms of barrels ingeniously rotated on an axis). With a bedroom and a bathroom (approx. 40 sqm), the small building assumes the role of a guest room. A playground with a climbing wall, birds and swings provide activities for the little ones, along with the pond and the cattle on the property. The house and the outbuildings (garage, photovoltaic panels), the greenhouses and the vegetable garden, the fruit trees, the glistening water that made its way through the willows, the grass, the sheep stable and the bird area are guarantees of the self-sufficiency of the property. As additional security measures are the protective trench fence and thorny vegetation, the observation posts, the bunker as a shelter in case of calamity and the escape route. The location of the property 30 minutes from Bucharest, in Grădiștea (northeast of Ilfov County) makes it extremely attractive as a weekend refuge, a place of return to nature and peace.

House Bucharest (Romania)

There’s something of the earth-sky tension carried in the mountain villas architecture; gravity pulls towards the stone beneath the feet, while the tops of the mountains and trees look up at the blue. Villa Ghica is part of this binomial being anchored in a high stone foundation but the white walls are trying to get out of the decorative wood’s grip. It is quiet, there’s soft light and occasionally the rustling of leaves an dwater or bird’s fluttering their wings. The proximity of the forest translates into a gently sloping terrain with rich grass and shady trees; the villa is perched on a moderate ridge. The generous yard of 1050 sqm, guarded by imposing fir trees, is delimited by wooden fences that symbolically define the spaces, leaving the eye to freely pass through them towards the morning mist and the forest maze. The building has a slender figure despite being rather horizontal; the clean and bright outside has red-tiled chimneys that promise the warmth and comfort of stoves; indeed, the ground floor living room surprises with a spectacular fireplace with refined round lines. The living room on the ground floor is partitioned by round arches and a decorative ceiling thus creating small elegant reception areas that are patiently waiting for guests’ tête-à-tête. The solid furniture does not weight you down, there’s history and discretion in it. The interiors are bright, with meticulously crafted solid wood pieces; it is the refined atmosphere of a space that was once part of the creative houses of the intellectual elite of the twentieth century. A warm wooden staircase connects to the bedrooms on the attic floor; the wood nuance is also found in the carpentry of the doors but also in the kitchen furniture. Wonderful stoves with richly decorated tiles warm the night area, bringing not only warmth but also the necessary stories - the panoramic view of the Bucegi Mountains provides material and inspiration. Activities and attractions in the area: • Peleș Castle (1873-1914) • Știrbey Castle / Sinaia Museum • Sinaia Casino • Sinaia Monastery (1690) with a painting by Pârvu Mutu Zugravul and the tomb of the politician Tache Ionescu • Sinaia Monastery Museum, the first museum of religious art in Romania with paintings and icons, over 500 volumes of old books, antique furniture and church art. • Ariniş Reservation that protects and conserves arboreal species, including the white alder (alnus incana). • Sinaia Railway Museum inside Sinaia Station • Palace-Villa “Alina Știrbei Florescu” • Narcissus Meadow, Rea Valley • Starting point for Ialomicioarei Cave and Ialomița Monastery (wooden church, 16th century) • Mountain routes to Zănoagei Gorges, Omu Peak, Caraiman Cross, Dor Peak, Izvorul Dorului Valley, Jepii Mari, Jepii Mici • Slopes: Valea Soarelui, Valea Dorului, Papagal, Laptici, Valea Dorului, Cota 2000, Malaxa, Vânturile, Poiana Stânii, Furnica, Popicărie, Vânturiș, Târle, Scândurari

Castle Iacobeni (Romania)

In the forests of Transylvania, 100 km from Brasov and Targu Mures, a manicured hedge reminiscent of the perfection of Versailles guides the steps to a petit chateau . At the end of the alley the gaze stops on a building like a piece of France moved to the Harghita Mountains. In reality, the architecture is tributary to the Transylvanian style of Kos Karoly, the architect born in the region and acclaimed co-author of a prestigious Budapest neighborhood. The property is practically a contemporary castle for a new type of castellan, one that values the refinement of the classic style, the privacy offered by 20,000 sq m of wooded land and the change of seasons. In winter the immaculate snow casts a gray-blue light mirroring the sky, and the snowy tower stands guard beside the trees surrounding the building like a defensive wall; the snow erases the contemporary leaving room for a medieval thrill. Autumn, on the other hand, contrasts the subtle refinement of architecture with the smoky burgundy of deciduous forest. Budding makes the branches crack in spring, and in summer the same coniferous and deciduous leaves bring breeze and coolness. The building is projected on the sky, yet it does not overwhelm with arrogance but with the elegance of the shades and the aesthetics of the lines. The white masonry is embraced by solid stone and blue-gray carpentry; the caramel-colored wood accents punctuate the railing area and the terrace furniture. The 17m-high tower offers a 360 degree panorama over the surrounding endless forest (although it is located in a small locality, the property enjoys the peace of isolation). Inside, the tower has walls clad in French blue wood paneling and a stylized spiral staircase that, seen from above, opens like slices of a Dobos Torte; accordingly, the light that falls on them is reflected on the walls like a liquid caramel. The building preserves the wide steps and the platform entrance of the old residences where the guests were greeted by all of people of the house, owners and staff alike. The interior is intimate, the partitions are designed to bring the family together, the rooms manage to stay warm and welcoming. Classic solid wood furniture pieces in warm colors, paintings, hunting trophies and elegant lighting fixtures (the latest made by the craftsman of the Vienna Opera) are carefully chosen and discreetly displayed to build a warm family atmosphere. In the living room there is a coffered ceiling, an impressive travertine fireplace decorated with a marble bust and wonderful pendulum wall clocks, made of carved wood. The property highlights valuable local resources - stone and wood - and completes them exquisitely with a few statues on the outside and other discreet valuables on the inside. Everything revolves around wood and the interior staircase is another homage to Kos Karoly and his Transylvanian style. Statuary and refined, the castle retains an intimate, friendly character also due to its size (the built area is 620 sqm). There are 6 bedrooms with private bathroom (their number can be supplemented through the attic partitioning), a dining room for 12 people, breakfast room, an orangery and large terraces, office, gym and table tennis, dressing room and dedicated hunting room (with a safety box for keeping the guns). The building has technical spaces and rooms for its staff, all with generous surfaces and state-of-the-art technical equipment. Moreover, the outbuildings are integrated into the landscape both practically and aesthetically; a special mention deserves the cellar dug in the ground, thus taking advantage of the constant temperature required for wine storage. Separately there is a pavilion for 25 people with barbecue area, bread oven and goulash kettle plus a garden of organic vegetables on 900 sqm. As no castle deserves its name without horses, le petit chateau has a stable and its outbuildings for two horses, in addition to the barn and the car garage.

Chalet Colibița (Romania)

If you can take your eyes off the lake and dare to turn your back on it to look at the property, the first thing you will notice, besides the contemporary design, is the roof of the terrace coming out into the landscape like a hand sheltering the eyes looking further over the water to the opposite shore. This, in turn, makes you turn back to the lake again guessing where your gaze would go when you’ll be sitting up on the terrace over a glass of wine. Over there on the opposite bank there are holiday villas, hills, forests and pastures of the Calimani mountains; Colibita Lake mirrors the sky and has sandy beaches which have earned it the nickname mountain sea. Boats with masts attract seagulls while graceful swans glide smoothly on the glistening water. The view takes over, your eyes are kept captive in the clouds on the water (the locals say that in its depths there are the church and some of the houses of the old hamlet here before the accumulation lake took over). The generous land (3888 sqm) has an opening to the lake and, therefore, the property does not lack the floating pontoon and a 30-people capacity fully equipped gazebo. The pedestrian alleys are arranged, as is the parking lot. There are two villas layered on B + GF + A, all rooms having views and their own terrace facing the lake. The developed built area is 656 sqm, respectively 428 sqm. One of the villas has a meeting room in the basement, a wave-generating heating pool, a bathroom, showers, a salt room, a sauna and a sports area. On the ground floor we find an office, a fully equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace and a bedroom with private bathroom, and in the attic two bedrooms with private bathrooms and an apartment with two rooms and bathroom. The other villa has a technical room/ storage room in the basement and three bedrooms with private bathrooms. On the ground floor there are a spacious hall, reception, another technical room, terrace, a fully equipped kitchen with pantry, living room with fireplace and bathroom. The attic brings three bedrooms with private bathrooms and a common area. The quality of the design, workmanship and finishes is impeccable. Both villas are nestled within the slope of a small hill, pragmatically exploiting the differences in level and volume. They have straight lines and clear features free of any unnecessary decorative element. The architecture inspires new, a modern and clean air. The impression continues in the interior, with white or gray furniture embedded in the walls. The light is special fiiling up the air with calmness. The chromatics are limited to white lime, cement gray or anthracite, black and wood accents. There are mostly non-colors with only some accessories (a chandelier or a rich old frame) that bring a bit of copper or bronze shine. The interior is minimalist because here the exterior takes over the house through the silent, light wide frame perspective. In addition, the quality finishes and furniture outline a subtle refinement, as if the interior pays homage to the exterior, refuses to compete with it and understands that less is more, that they can coexist symbiotically if the architect puts the view at the center of the concept. This is the role of fully glazed walls - keep the space fluid, do not put a barrier or distance between the inside and the outside. The emphasis on the panorama is also transposed in the modern turquoise armchairs and swings strategically placed in front of the fireplace or the lake, promising velvety softness and disconnection. Paintings with geometric motifs bring symmetry and faded colors, a warm autumn air. The kitchen is fully furnished and equipped for a passionate chef and retains the lightness of the rest of the house. Chic guesthouse? Sure. Holiday House? Yes! But don't you think it's time to be a little selfish - don't you deserve to feel at home on vacation every day? Photo Florin Pepene

Apartment Bucharest (Romania)

The architectural complex Bragadiru Palace dates back to the dawn of the 20th century, in full Belle Époque. The whole domain is named after its founder, Dumitru Marinescu Bragadiru (1842-1915). An emblematic figure for the city, he started from a poor family of workers and became Europe's third industrialist at the beginning of the 20th century. Through his ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit, Bragadiru has fully contributed to the capital's economic and architectural development. At the end of the 19th century, he set up a brewery – at that time, in Bucharest, there were only two such companies, both of German origin and highly appreciated: Luther (the future Grivita) and Oppler (later GIB). Near his brewery, Bragadiru built a recreation center for employees, following an old tradition. Thus was born the Colossus, as the building was known in its beginnings, around 1905. Designed as a Palace of Culture, it was used as a brewery and a performance hall, but also to host several family events of the workers. Bragadiru Palace was built according to the plans designed by Austrian architect Anton Shuckerl in 1894. It is an impressive construction, in size, architecture and decorations, with particular attention paid to details: spiral stairs in Norman style, stuccoes, statues inserted in the facade, Venetian mirrors and Victorian-style balconies. The summer garden and terrace harmoniously complete the eclectic architecture. With a spectacular ballroom, which can also function as a theater or concert hall, a library, a bowling alley, numerous rooms, shops and offices that operated on the ground floor, the Palace combines the styles of the most famous buildings of the time: the Chamber of Commerce, The Romanian Post Office, The House of Savings and Consignments (CEC) and the building of the Supreme Court of Justice, all built in the same period. In June 1948, the family's property is confiscated, and the Palace becomes the Lenin Culture House of district 5 and functions under this purpose until 1989. After the fall of the communist regime, it is completely neglected, until 2003, when it is returned to the rightful owners, Dumitru Marinescu Bragadiru’s descendants, who manage to restore the former building from ruins. Bragadiru Palace is one of the most imposing buildings of Bucharest of all time. Today, it is an elegant location, which hosts private events, from wedding ceremonies to birthday parties, personal or corporate. The Colosseum Hall is truly spectacular and any event organized here is engrained by the aristocratic atmosphere and the glow of the glory years of inter-war Bucharest. The property is available for sale as it follows: - Integral: Palace + Garden; - The palace of 10,110 sqm with the subsidiary land, of 4,369 sqm; - Garden of 12,122 sqm, suitable for real estate development, current urban indices: CUT 2.5 and POT 75% Source: Adevarul.ro Photo: Andrei Mărgulescu

Apartment Sighișoara (Romania)

There are many medieval cities in the world but not many are alive, inhabited, lived daily by residents not by tourists only. The history of Sighișoara is closely related to the colonization of the area with Saxons-Francons in the twelfth century. The commercial and military importance of the settlement made it possible to build a citadel on the hill. In the 13th and 15th centuries, the craft guilds were commissioned to carry out the task of securing its defence; they built and maintained 14 defensive towers and 4 bastions; nine of the towers and three bastions are still standing today. Nowadays, the center of Sighișoara is a UNESCO monument and delights tourists with scenes of everyday life between centuries-old walls. On the way to the second floor and the room where Vlad Țepeș was born, the prototype for Dracula, you stop on the first floor at the restaurant that bears his name. Sighișoara has this vibe that tames history and its great deeds and orders them selfishly - first an espresso at the bar, then the story of the space where the bar now operates, a leather shop, a merchant's warehouse or a goldsmith's shop in the centuries before commercial freedom. Mador House is not a historical monument, which, from a practical point of view, has its advantages. However, it enjoys an excellent position in the historic center of Sighișoara, being one hundred meters from the Clock Tower or the famous covered staircase leading to the church. On its cobbled street, there are no more horse hooves and knights' spurs but the soles of tourists and the wheels of trollers. The property is built on a cellar dating since the XIII-XIV centuries; at present, in this space of about 100 square meters, there is a handicraft workshop, a tribute to the past. However, the building is much newer than it looks - it was built in 1902 in the spirit of the architecture of the past centuries. It has two towers that guard its extremities, contributing to the grandeur of the façade; their edges are kept tight in the bodice of a brick belt that keeps them straight, parallel and proud. The flaps, those structures like spears located at the top of the building, support the impression of arrogance, but the power is quickly softened by the candy chromatic of the façade. The explosion of exterior color is weighted down by a simpler interior with wonderful tile stoves. There are four apartments with two rooms each, bathroom and fully equipped kitchen (capacity can be increased, however, given that the attic is an open space that can be remodeled in 6 rooms). Pieces of classic furniture, some painted with complex floral and geometric motifs, point to the space currently exploited as a tourist reception unit. Casa Mador has excellent reviews on all major booking platforms; the position and the comfort offered are appreciated, special mentions receiving the attic-bedroom for children and the inner courtyard, excellently prepared for outdoor meals filled with the aroma of wood grill. The existence of this own private yard is a rarity in Sighișoara where usually the properties have access only to common yards. The building, with a generous area of 560 square meters arranged on UG + GF + F + AT and divided into four independent units, offers flexibility to the future owner - it can be transformed into a private home, boutique hotel or business space or a combination of them. The fact that Târgu Mureș Airport is only 40 km away reduces the distances and brings the big world closer. Area attractions: • Sighisoara itself, a city on the list of UNESCO monuments • The Medieval summer festival • Saschiz, a UNESCO monument with a fortified Saxon church from the 15th century Photo Florin Pepene

Property Sibiu (Romania)

This interwar building, design in Neo-Romanian style, is located in Sibiu, in the immediate vicinity of the 15th century medieval fortified enclosure. The ensemble is classified in the List of Historical Monuments in Romania by order no. 2030/2014 with code SB-II-a-B-21084, and includes: the main residence (SB-II-m-B-21084.01), the first annex (SB-II-m-B-21084.02) and the second annex (SB-II-m-B-21084.03). According to cartographic sources, around 1875 there was another building on the place of the current one. In 1909, the plot was owned by Henrik Baumann, in 1929 the ownership right was registered for Luiza and Friedrich Baumann. The inscription on the portico’s floor and on the façade indicates its year of construction as 1929, the project being signed by architect Alfred Cernea, as the concrete slab on the façade indicates. Most likely, the project was commissioned by Dr. Liviu Turcu. The present building is emblematic for its Neo-Romanian style. The characteristic features are: massive volumetry, highlighting the central body, loggia with short and thick columns, carved wooden structures inspired by the vernacular architecture, trilobed arches, openings with semi-circular closure and rich decorations with Oriental motifs. The central side of the façade is taller than the other parts, which is also highlighted at the roof. The central area of the ground floor contains a window with semi-circular closure, framed by two embedded Corinthian columns. The floor of the central part is the richest ornamented part of the façade, elevated by the balcony, supported on four massive consoles, decorated with arabesque panels. The loggia opens through three tall trilobate arcades. The façade surfaces around the arches are decorated in an exuberant style with spindles, flowers and arabesques. The main façade of the building offers a panoramic view of the entire garden, at the center of which is an ornamental pool. The access to the yard is made through an alley flanked by tall trees. Designed as an urban villa-style residence with a park around the central building, it initially hosted the Dr. Bolintineanu Sanatorium, and in November 1936 it became Dr. Antal's For Births and Female Diseases Clinic. The building was nationalized in 1948 with this function, soon becoming the headquarters of Sibiu General Sanitary Inspectorate, then a kindergarten, a function preserved until the 1990s. In 2000 the villa and the parcel were returned to the heir family. Today, the imposing building keeps almost intact its original design, projected by architect Cernea, with the valuable decorative elements of the façades. The two annexes were also preserved, realized in a unitary architectural design, the fence near the street along with the main gate, the alley lined by trees, the rampant, the staircase and the basin in front of the main building. Inside, valuable items have been preserved, such as decorative paintings of the ceiling and the original carpentry. Other main attractions add up to the exquisite architectural details, such as: the generous yard of over 5000 sqm and the proximity to The Big Square in Sibiu, located at only 200 m. An outstanding witness of the only national architecture program in Romania, located in a central area of Sibiu, this splendid interwar villa is silently and hopefully waiting for its new owner.

Apartment with terrace Bucharest (Romania)

Your summer seaside residence can be right here, in a select penthouse, meeting your highest requirements. Large, light zones, a modern interior design with a homey ambiance and an outdoor terrace with dream views are waiting for you. The living room is the nucleus of an extended open-space for which a neutral, discreet chromatic was chosen, with dominant white and grey shades, along with colored or anthracite touches. The two-sided sofa offers both the comfort of a daybed and a subtle demarcation to the kitchen area. A lot of natural light enters through the large windows and doors from the terrace, flanked by vaporous curtains of natural velvet. The furniture is supple and versatile and comes from Interior Store suppliers, Italian companies in the vast majority. A penthouse where everything is up to par is waiting for its future owner in North Mamaia. He will enjoy very generous surfaces, a 130 sqm interior, similar on the outdoor terrace, a modern and stylish setting with exquisite Italian furniture and last, but not least, fabulous views of the beach and the lake. The entire space benefits from a fluid in/out communication, both through the comfortable exits on the terrace surrounding the apartment on three sides, and through the extended glass walls in all rooms. The idea of fluid spaces, flooded with natural light, is visible everywhere- in the open-space living room that includes the versatile fully equipped kitchen, in the master bedroom bordered on two sides by glass walls or on the outdoor terrace where you can choose between three cardinal points depending on the sun, the shade and view you want. Horizontally, some steps and small ‘’scenes’’ are very ingenious inserted, which bring a beautiful variation in the large areas. In our short visit, the admiration for what we saw was continuous, overwhelmed only by a little wave of guilty envy for the one who will live here. The white-blue tandem, so typical of the marine areas, was fully used in the master bedroom. Wide horizons open beyond the two glass walls. Starting/ ending the day with the majestic picture of nature in front of your eyes guarantees an excellent tone. The main bathroom has easy access from the master bedroom, a beautiful view over the lake and a small ‘’platform’’, designed as a relaxation space after bath. The outdoor terrace has an equal surface to that of the interior space, which it flanks on three sides. It overlooks the sea and the Stiutghiol Lake and has a great potential for being used as a dining space, a relaxation space, a mini-garden and so on. House Brezoi (Romania)

The Villa is located in the centre of the city of Brezoi, in front of the park, with a view towards the Țurțudanu peak. It was built in 1905 and it is an outstanding example of the Art Nouveau style. The inside mural decorations comply with the style and bear nature inspired motifs. The house retains a unique history between its walls, being a symbolic building of the city of Brezoi. It was built at the request of the owners of the gold mine in Vasilatul (near Brezoi) by Italian craftsmen, who used materials brought from the Peninsula. Their mark is seen in the unique architecture of the house, the imposing columns at the entrance testifying their talent and craftsmanship. The special paintings that adorn the walls of the house have been kept intact also. The house underwent a general refurbishment in 2005, at which time the paintings and the exterior of the building were restored. Confiscated by the communists, the house acquired various functions throughout time, including the Pioneers House in Brezoi (1980-1990). After the Revolution it was claimed by the former owners and sold. Legend tells that among the first people who arrived in the Lotru Valley were the outlaws and the highwaymen from the early modern period who found shelter in the middle of the forest, hidden under the branches of either coniferous or deciduous trees. The name of the valley actually comes from the archaic word for thief, namely ”lotru” in Romanian. They used to hide there in order to split the takings and store them in the caves of the area. The Lotru Valley starts past the city of Brezoi, at the junction of the Lotru and Olt rivers. In order to get there, you have to cross the spectacular Olt Valley, eother if you arrive from Sibiu or from Râmnicu-Vâlcea. Brezoi is a small mountain city with around 7000 inhabitants. It is located at 400 m height. The distance from Bucharest is 200 km, 60 km from Sibiu and 30 km from Râmnicu-Vâlcea. Many well known tourist-trails towards Lotrului and Căpățânii mountains start here. The city can also be a starting point for longer routes towards the old Transylvanian towns or towards the monasteries in the Oltenia region. Diverse forests and valleys surround the city and one can find seasonal accommodation here – the so-called «odăi», in Romanian, chambers which maintain the archaic legacy and folklore of the mountain area. The local forest is inhabited by all the wild animals that live in Romania, namely, bear, wolf, wild boar, deer, chamois, bobcat. The mountain climate, with fresh air, lacks strong winds, chilly or extremely warm days and can be a good remedy against daily stress. The flora is rich and diverse. It is the place where the Edelweiss grows at the lowest height in Europe (500 m). Source: valceaturistica.ro Photo: Artlight Concept Eugen Constantin

House Brașov (Romania)

Bune ș ti, Bundorf, Bondorf, Bondref, Bodndref, Bodendorf, Budendorf, Sz á szbuda - Romanian, German, Hungarian. All these names indicate the same village in Bra ș ov, Transylvania, conveniently located between medieval Sighi ș oara (36 km) and famous Viscri (6 km). Lunca Popii mansion is located here, magically overlooking the village’s fortified church. It has a typical Saxon fence that blocks the view of the curious and keeps the household quiet. The tall, rounded gate and the property fence retain their original brick roof, one that has been blown away by the wind, washed away by the rain, and covered with moss of the yesteryear. Two huge boulders guard the gate like two sheepfolds. Everything inspires a quiet life, clear directions and an attitude of looking life straight in the eye. Only the bench leaning timidly on one side of the gate speaks of the fragility of human nature, always looking for closeness to the other. The stones leading to the house with the raised porch are from local, from a nearby riverbed or ridge, not bought from a DIY store. In the evening, the outdoor lighting springs from the grass and projects a warm light that invites to storytelling and stargazing. Although the construction is recent, it give the impression of a wealthy Saxon peasant household - the cleanliness of the white and the warmth of the wood create that rare air of seriousness and stability. The winter here is snowy just like in our grandparents' childhood stories. In summer, on the other hand, the yard is filled with tall grass, flowers and trees with rich canopy; the sunbeds and the table with stone chairs are overwhelmed by this domestic green, vibrant, refreshing and restful. As in any organised household, the bread oven and the fountain with a handmade clay jug cannot be missing. The wood stack promises warm winters but also deliciously smoked grill ed food. The courtyard is configured on the typical Saxon model, divided by the large house and adjacent buildings, in this case a garage for two cars and a private parking space for another five. Enjoying an excellent position in the country’s hot area of rural tourism, the property can function both as a single-family holiday home and as a tourist cottage for groups of up to 14 people. If desired, there is the possibility of extension with constructions on a similar surface - the property includes a plot of 1221 sqm adjacent to the current courtyard of 1233 sqm. The villa has 700 sqm; was built in 2009 which gives it all the facilities of a modern, comfortable home. Exposed oak beams mark the impeccable white of the walls. Crafted tile stoves and generous fireplaces cozy up the atmosphere. The interior has an almost spartan air in the bedrooms, but this austerity is broken by small details with the glamor of faded bronze from other times. Three bedrooms on the ground floor have access to a bathroom and a bathroom, while the fourth has its own bathroom. Three other bedrooms are upstairs, with access to an impeccably polished solid wood staircase. Two of these bedrooms of about 16 sqm each share a bathroom but the strong point here is the master bedroom which surprises not only by it 40 sqm -area but also by the wooden bed canopy, dressing room, bathroom and private terrace. The view is dreamy - the hills of Transylvania are green and look like pastel watercolours from afar. The living space, with a library and living room of 80 sqm, includes a table for 12 people, a fireplace and a game table. In summertime the 60 sqm terrace on the porch becomes an al fresco living-room. The kitchen offers ample space ( 40 square meters ) ready to receive between its walls laughter, warmth and stories (the traditional stove in the well-equipped kitchen has a supply of wood on the right side, hidden from view by a curtain wrinkled like grandma's skirts).
